My Laptop has been stuffing up lately, actually its more of the programs. The programs such as AVG is says it has an internal database error and ask if the computer time is right, and it is! Programs say their definitions are too old when I just updated them. When I browse around on 'Opera', a pop-up window says something about page being expired, is my timer right?
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? Help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have already tried going to the timer and clicking on update time, for some reason it can't connect to the website to get it updated.

Do you have any sort of firewall? If so turn it off and try again.

I turned off the firewall, and it still doesn't work. It says, 'An error occured getting the status of the last synchronization. The RPC server is unavailable.'

Go into control panel/services and make sure both RPC services are not set to disable. One should say automatic, the other should say manual.

Sorry about the late reply, I started the RPC in services, which is in Administrative tools. Now it just says error in synchronization or something like that. My MSN doesn't operate either, could they all be linked to the same problem.

The operating system time must match the BIOS (CMOS) time. This is set by going into the BIOS and setting the system time. If that time is not being held correctly by the system, it's most likely that you'll have to change the CMOS battery.

Even though you'll get errors with programs from this, uninstall then reinstall the app should take care of that once the times are in sync.

Here's more to chew on, it also further states,'The time sample was rejected because: The peer's stratum is less than the host's stratum.'

    Hmmmm????
