Okay, I'm pretty sure i heard somewhere that you can connect you pc to your tv with firewire and get better picture than s-video...

first of all, is that true (seeing as how s-video can get pixelated)?

and second, how do you do it (i noticed the iLink on the front of my sony kds-r50xbr1 tv, and have hooked up my computer to it, but i dont know how to get it to work...)

basically, my question is... does anyone know how to hook up a pc to a tv with firewire? and is it better than s-video?

Does your video card have dvi port? if so, just get a dvi-hdmi cable for best picture to tv.

okay well, i guess i forgot to mention i have a dell inspiron E1405 laptop... which, unfortunately, does not have a dvi port...

it does however have a 4-pin firewire port, so connecting it that way will be good...

I am not sure you can stream video through iLink. S-Video does not pixelate, it's your video output, could be source, could be video card. I think your tv may have vga in. It says PC connection, nothing more specific.
