computer with partial power

    I have a gaterway pc and it has some power to it but it doesn't turn on all the way. My fan is going and the light for the drive blinks and thats all. The light on the power button doesn't not light and the monitor won't come on. Any ideas of what could be wrong.

    try another psu. disconnect all cables to drives. remove all cards & ram except for 1 stick of ram & videocard, reseat those 2. check the can shaped objects on the motherboard which are capacitors that they are flat topped & not domed or leaking brown stuff.
