Hi guys, Need your help, for the past few months I have had to use windows Task Manager to close down my computer by using it to log off first then click on the close down icon, as the close down icon on my desktop did not work properly. My comp attempted to close down by closing all running programs then nothing. Unfortunately my close down icon on the start up screen has dissapeared and the only way of switching off my computer is at the mains (hope that makes sense) have tried reinstalling windows but windows needs to restart comp and it doesnt happen.

    hopefully yours Mmack

If a new installation of Windows cannot shutdown or restart a system...it's more than likely a hardware issue. Either a bad motherboard, a needed update to the system BIOS...or a faulty power supply. Loose connections may also cause the issue. To check your connections, means to check everything that's connected to anything else. CPU, memory, PCI cards....cables, etc.
