i wide my computer because it was having trouble rebooting. before i wiped it i saved a few things i use for my torrents on a external hardrive. now when i plug my hardrive it, it wont show up in my computer? i have a western digital elemets 500gb hardrive i didnt have this problem before
Is the hard drive at least showing up in computer management? If it is add a drive letter to it. Have you tried connecting the external on another computer? If the external hard drive shows as "RAW" (thats a sign of file corruption), you need to do a chkdsk or scandisk on that drive to fix it so that it can be read again. In all cases all the information is still safe and be recovered. As long as the hard drive is working and you don't format it you'll be ok.
