Hi from a newbie, I've searched for this problem but can't find the exact same one. Sorry if I have duplicated.

I have a Dell PC with a NEC ND- 1100A DVD writer. I'm using Nero 6 to copy DVDs. So far I've copied 2 x movies, one was a version of Master & Commander, the other was a copy of American Pie 3, ran it thru DeCSS and burned it so I've copied both ways. (Not that I'm making claims to be any kind of wizard, that's the extent of my talents :)

Recently my Mum came back from Vietnam with some DVDs. I was trying to copy Mystic River tonight but my PC won't even read the disc. It plays OK in my DVD player, (and my Mum's) so there is actually a file there.

The PC seems to try to read the disc, you can hear the whirring sound it makes when it gets busy.

I noticed that the disc has DVD9 written on it.
    Any help is appreciated.

Edited - sorry about that, I was just trying to explain my situation in full rather than cop a spray for "insufficient information" like most newbies seem to get.

    Hiya, statements like
