Whenever I plug my PSP into my computer, it doesn't recognise it as a PSP, it shows up as "Unknown Device" in device management. Does anyone know how I canget my computer to recognise it?

I'm running Windows XP SP2 if that helps.

Yes, I've checked under my computer and the PSP is in USB mode. Also,, when I plug it in, it says "USB Device Not Recognized"

well so you looked in "My Computer"

and you have made sure that the USB Mode was on...well another thing that you can do is try anoter port.

OH and you have to have the right usb cord. That might be another problem, if its from sony, or it goes to a digital camera, it will be fine.

I've tried every USB port on my computer, I don't think it's the USB cable, because it works on my old slow Windows 98 PC

Yes, and it works, but my old computer is too slow, it takes hours to transfer anything to the psp.
