I have a freind who's computer will not shut down. When she goes through the Windows Start/Turn off computer/Turn off process the computer just keeps reading from the hard drive but never turns off. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Make sure all usb devices are unplugged fromt he comp and then take all discs out of the roms and floppies. See if this helps.
She is running XP. I will call her and give these ideas a try. Thanks, I will let you know if they work.
