I used rip-it-4-me and then dvd shrink.

It does not also work on DVDfab and VobBlanker.

Were you using the latest version of dvdfab? You said you tried vobblanker, was that after ripping with dvdfab?

Have you tried using anydvd to rip?

Confessions of a shopaholic is another one of these 50-60GB, multi-fake-titled DVDs.

As long as you're happy with just the movie, it is easy with RipIt4Me. You just choose MovieOnly, then choose the "right" title.

The trick is choosing the right title out of the 30-90 fake titles.

There are two easy ways to do it. First is to notice within RipIt4Me itself on the startup scan, it lists all the titles and their corresponding VTS files. All the fake titles are pair up with VTSs that are paired up to other titles. ONLY the right title is pair up, one-to-one with one VTS set. In this case, you see that Title 58 is the only title paired up only with VTS10. So that's it.

The 2nd way is that some players, like PowerDVD, show you exact which title its playing. So all you have to do is to actually play the movie on your PC and PowerDVD displays which title is playing, which is Title 58.

So choose Movie Only, Title 58.

NB: I believe it is also possible to "brute force" it, that is, rip all 50+GB of it. I did that once, as long as you have the disk space. But then it still helps to choose the right title to save...

I used Fab DVD HD Decrypter (free version) then Shrink. Worked fine, did full disk.

Very useful methods to judge the real title. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.

Isn't it better quality to rip just the main movie?

    Pokiguy,

I used your directions and it ripped like a charm. Then used Shrink to make an iso and burned it with Decrypter. The disk I made won't play in my DVD it gives an error when trying to read the disk. Any suggestions? Should I try andother burning program?

Yes. That's because you are freeing up the space that is use by all of the extras. That way DVDShrink doesn't have to use as much compression to put it on a DVD5 disk. The less compression the better quality.

***Only 3 apps you should ever need:***
    imgburn (free-google it)
    dvdshrink (free-google it)
    anydvd (not free-find other means)

    Step 1:
Install anydvd and get it "registered"
It will run in the systray and decrypt on-the-fly as soon as you insert a disc in a drive.

    Step 2:
    Install dvdshrink.
Run said disc in dvdshrink: analyze first then (in this "false titles" case)re-author and point to the actual title.*see note
When it is done, this will create 2 folders by default: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS and stuff them into another folder.
Save/name the aforementioned folder wherever you want

    Step 3:
    Install imgburn.
Launch imgburn and choose: "write folders/files to disc"
    Insert blank disc.
Click "add folder" found at the top-left of the imgburn window.
This will bring up another window, find the folder you created in step 2 and open it. Double click the "VIDEO_TS" folder or select it and hit "ok".
You will be back at the imgburn window and now you just click the folder>>disc button (atleast thats what it looks like to me)

Writing begins and dvd will play in your player. it looks like alot, but do this about 2-3 times and it will become second nature.

**note: if you want to do a dvd+extras, in step 2, instead of re-author, click "backup!" in dvdshrink. most movies will do this, the one in the OP will have to be re-authored.

Use DVDfab6 (and turn off anydvd if that's what you use). It works perfect. No need to run it through dvdshrink. The movie is not good at all but for some reason if you need to back it up that should do the trick.
