Easy.. use static and set up like this

    PC
    IP: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: (nothing)

xbox boost off no anonymous, 2 users max
    IP: 192.168.0.200

and your address for the ftp protocol is

    ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.200

    catbert3,
I had the exact same problem trying to ftp via my router, I couldn't get it to work. I tried what janrocks said, still nothing!!

I eventually gave up and just connected directly to an old laptop, works a treat.

    Good luck dude!!

Sorry I offered no assistance only empathy.

Well done..there are firewall issues to deal with too. And I haven't used 98 in 5 years..Forget connecting through a router, just set up with a xover cable and mess with the settings. You need to reboot the xbox too to get it connected.
You know there is a 2GB file size limit with fat32 which will stop you making backup iso's?

    sarge,
Yeah the crossover to the lappy was the go. LOL I didn't know I had the restart the Xbox and that kept me going for a while, hmmmm I wonder if that's why the router route didn't work for me.

i had no problems at all with Windows XP and a router, did not change anything in the settings when i went from going strait to the PC, to going through a router.
