I don't know if I should buy a Nintendo Wifi Adapter. Where does it go? How does it connect? I thought the DS already had wireless internet built in. I went to gamestop and read the description: You must have a broadband connection to use the USB connector. Dial-up connections will not work with this device. This USB connector is for those who don't have a wireless Internet connection, the adapter can plug in to a computer's USB port to create a Wi-Fi connection with the DS. Users can then use this to play compatible Nintendo DS games online. So if I buy this I plug it in to my pc? But then what? Does the DS just automatically detect it and I can play with anyone around the world?
im also a little confused. If you have a wireless router can you play online? I have a D-Link DI-614+ if that helps.

The wi-fi adapter should be detected by the DS whenever you play wi-fi games like Mario Kart and Tetris. If you have a wireless router can you play online? I have a D-Link DI-614+ if that helps. As long as it's compatible with your router, it should work just fine. I have a wireless Linksys router with WEP and MAC filtering, and it works great with my DS. I would just try it and see if it works or not. I know there's a list somewhere, it might even be on Nintendo's website.
The USB Wireless Adapter is for people who either have a router without wirelessness, or simly a single computer connected to their modem. If you have a wireless router, check www.nintendowifi.com to see if your router is compatible. If it isn't, then you need the USB Adapter.
