can it be done? what connector would be needed?
It depends on the monitor. If it has a DV input then you could easily get an HDMI-DVI Adapter such as THIS ONE.
I haven't been able to find anything that would work if the monitor only has a VGA display input, but there probably is a product somewhere.
Hope this helps
thanks, that is exactly what i was looking for
it doesnt work though mate i have a gateway monitor lcd and tf which has dvi on the back of it and i put the adapter init and the hd cable running to my ps3 but i didnt get any picture whatsoever if you go to ps3-hacks.com and forums theres a topic about it and you need something like hdnp because the hd converters are manily designed for the the plasmas. I got the exact one that he recommeneded the monster converter.
Your monitor has to be HDCP compliant to use the HDMI output from the PS3. This Gateway monitor has an HDCP compliant DVI input and should work with an HDMI to DVI signal from the PS3:
just found out than my monitor isnt hdcp but i typed in ebay hdcp and it comes up with the adapter will this work if i bough one of them,or something to transfer the coding to make it compatiable with my monitor.
