i connected my laptop to my new hdtv but only the background pic shows up on the tv. the desktop programs and the start menu doesn't come up. anyone know how to fix this proble? im using an s-video card straight from the laptop to my tv.
Did you make sure that your laptop display resolution matched the maximum resolution of the TV BEFORE you hooked it up? Sounds Like you have the top right hand corner of the display on the TV. It also might be a virtual desktop that can be scrolled up and down to. Do you have mouse cursor control on the TV screen?
