I am trying to connect my laptop (which has a VGA output) to my Toshiba 32LV67U LCD television. It has HDMI, D-sub, and Component inputs. On the PC D-sub VGA input, it only supports: 640x480 60Hz 800x600 60Hz 1024x768 60Hz Since all of these are 4x3 resolutions, the image on the TV is a 4x3 image with black bars on the side. I can't make the image fill the screen. The television stretch modes do not work for the PC input. Is there something different I can do to make this work, or is my only solution to buy something like the Audio Authority 9A60 and use the component inputs? The television supports 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i for component inputs.
Also, I am not sure if my video card in the laptop supports custom resolutions. Will this make it impossible to get a 9A60 working with my TV?
My laptop has a ATI 2600 and the best I can get connecting to my tv is 1024 x 768. I know this doesn't help at all but at least it gives you something to compare with.
