So I am trying to figure out a way to connect my new labtop to my old PC. My old PC is like a 95-96 and doesn't have LAN capabilities so I am trying to figure out a way to network them. The PC has a Linksys card and so does my Laptop but I live in a apartment and get my internet from my neighbor. So basically I cannot network them, and I cannot direct connect them by use of LAN or Wireless so I am trying to figure out a way to connect them.
Basically I want to take everthing off my PC and put it onto my laptop. The PC has nothing with it, keyboard, monitor, nothing but a power cord. I just bought LAN wire and a monitor cable.
Is there any way I can use my laptop to access my PC, maybe even use my laptop as the monitor and such or am just going to have to take it all into a computer place?
Any help will save me. Poor college kids can only do so much by themselves!

you are missing to much stuff to post that computer as it checks for a monitor & if no monitor it stops there. the same with the keyboard & mouse. if laptop has usb on it than get an external usb case for hard drives & take the old hard drive out of the old computer & put it into the external usb case so can access info off old drive. external usb case is about $30Can.
