I was wondering would this be possible and how? If I plug my Modem into my PC via Ethernet, Buy a PCI Wireless Card (Wireless network card) would I be able to get the Ps3 to connect to the card and use the internet connection? which is running into the PC via ethernet? I was thinking you could because why is it differnt to a router a netowkr card can Send and Recive data.
if you were to get a wireless card, it would be: cable/dsl modem -> pc(on) -> pci card -> ps3. with a router, it's more simple: cable/dsl modem -> router -> ps3 routers makes things less complicated when trying to setup multiple pc's and consoles online. they're designed to distribute the internet to whatever computer/laptop/console is connected to it. spend the money on a router, as it will save you a lot of headaches. linksys routers are reliable. the WRT54G/GS/GL routers are affordable, and has the ability to run with the high end routers, when you install third-party firmware.
