anyone know if it's possible to connect online (to play mario kart ds or whatever), using a PCI wireless card? We have a router that can connect to it, but it's in the basement, my room is in the attic and my computer in the attic is connected by a wired network cable. My DS gets pretty poor reception from the router in the attic.

I also have a wireless pci card in my computer so that my laptop can also get online through ICS and an ad-hoc network. The thing is, the DS can't access ad-hoc networks and can only connect through AP's, so I guess my main question is, can I turn my computer into an AP so my DS can get online through my computer's wireless network card. I know I can just go and buy the $35 USB dongle that nintendo sells, but if I can do it with the hardware I already have, that would be great.

It completely depends on your PCI card software, but it s possible to use PCI cards as AP's.

Consult the PCI cards manufactuar or use google to find how to do it with your particular card.

Note that you can't do both ad-hoc and AP at the same time, so you'll to switch it between to two when you need to.
