I've done a lot of lighting mods of XBox's and always used the 5V off the molex for my LED power. Where can I find a constant 5V power source for powering my lights. I tried off the USB power since I never use it anyways but it wasn't enough power to power the 14 lights I have already wired. Tried the molex adapter off my network adapter but that only seems to have power at bootup for a second or I imagine when it accesses the hard drive. Does anyone have any suggestions or a link to a ps2 modding forum where I could get an answer. Thanx.
wow, have you try using the main power source?? cut and do some wiring from there? do u have any pictures of your xbox/ps2 lighting mod?
All of our XBox mods can be seen at monsterxbox.com The main power coming off the pins from the psu to the mb is 12v and I was looking for 5v since the lights are all wired already.
You could use the 5v power from what the magic 3.1 and some other modchips use. Go here for a diagram of where it is located, http://www.china-magic.com/magic3/installation.html and pick your version ps2 for the diagram to see where the 5v is.
