"contact to service provider" message

    a friend bring me a v185 from another country, when i turn it on, the phone show the message: "contact to service provider", what this means ?, and, wath can i do ? thanks

    There is two reasons for that.
    *Your friend or you attempted to try and unlock the fone when it ask for subsidy code and ofcouse too many time with wrong code it's now going to tempber mode.
    *This fone may use a different bandwidth and it need to be manualy swich to the correct bandwidth to operate. Euope ans ASIA use 900-1800mhz, North America use 850-1900 mhz.
    For the first case all you need to do is insert the original sim in and wait for 5min it's will get back to normal or just go ahead and unlock it.
