So i have noticed some downloadable content is not available unless you are signed into xbox live. Such as Premium themes. i purchased the Battlestar Gallactica theme and it will not display when i am not on live, i chose it and it says it is selected but it does not change to the actual theme. or if i am online and the theme is working and i get disconnected the theme stops displaying. Is this normal? if it is normal then i call MAJOR ripoff by MS. I could have also sworn i played lost and the damned while offline but now it says it isnt accessable or it is missing unless i am signed in. Also this weekend i was watching some .AVI video files from my usb stick and it worked fine. yesterday when live is down i try to do the same with a diff avi file and it says i need the media update which i clearly already have. so i tried to play the same avi files as i had played just the day before fine and it still said i needed the update??? WTF? could this be because i swapped consoles with my nephew but kept my hdd with the new console? in that case im guessing it only works when i am signed into live cause it can look up the files with the server? if this is the case im wondering if i swapped consoles back would i still have this problem? i have purchased content to the same HDD using diff consoles....could i be screwed?
I believe MS recently released an option/tool to relicense dlc from one console to another. Should be some info about it on xbox.com.
