    lots of friends pcs are so loaded with viruses.i do a hijak log and post them here on ad for help.but people say u can reformat?(start from say new .how could i do this?do i need a xp disk from the machine.or can i reformat with out it.please tel me if there is a way

    My opinion:
    People reformat their machines because they don't know how to get them fixed. Many times when people do this the corruption is still there. Get your machine clean. Go to download.com and get the following:

    Ad-Aware (Lavasoft)
    Spybot Search & Destroy
    If you do not have anti-virus then get AVG
    CCleaner

    Then go to ewido.net/us and download their Ad-Aware program.

    Now reboot your computer in safe mode (Press F8 repeatedly as windows is starting). Run all programs. Then reboot your machine and go to hijack-this.org and download Hijack This (HjT). Post a log when you are done.
