I have a 19 inch SAMSUNG SyncMaster 941bw Color LCD monitor and use a
eVGA NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 video card. My CPU is a 3.33 GHz Celeron.

I am playing a PC Game which is set to highest brightness in the game,
but it is still quite dark. TRESPASSER.

Adjusting the SAMSUNG monitor does not change the brightness.

I had this problem before with another software called Windows Media Player while watching DVD's...!

That, I was told, was a CODEC problem and I now use the Classical Media Player to get
    around it.

Is it possible to somehow force PC Video Games to run with a higher level of brightness ?

    OK....I fingered it out!

My eVGA card came with an NVIDIA driver menu which I had not seen because
I had not looked FAR ENOUGH before....

    That menu has video controls.

It is interesting that the button controls on the front of my SAMSUNG monitor
do not have any effect on what is seen on the Monitor itself...!

    How odd.
