I am hoping someone might be able to explain this to me. I put an iso file into my computer, but when i transfer it over to my external Seagate harddrive it changes it to a mds file. Than clonedvd2 wont recognize the mds file. Couple of questions, my other simpletech external harddrive didnt do this, so why does my seagate do it. How do i switch back the mds file to iso so clonedvd2 will recognize it.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Uhh im not sure of all the ways but i have the program UltraISO and i know it can convert a majority of image files between formats. So it could take your mds/mdf file and convert it to ISO or any other format you need. I'm sure theres other ways but this is the only one i know of.

What has me stunned is though, why does my file transfer from the iso in which it states it is writing it as but it saves it as a mds file in the seagate external harddrive. Here is another strange occurance. I can sometimes drop an iso into it, and sometimes i can't from the another drive into the seagate.

Also are there something i can do to make the clonedvd2 accept the mds file?

The only two things I can think of are 1. do you have Alcohol 120%? because this program (as far as i know) is the only one that creates mds/mdf files. and 2. possibly a issue with your external drive. thats all i can think of hope you get this worked out.

Try File - Open Disk Image in DVD Shrink then just select the MDS file - works for me.
