convert 4x to 16x

    Hello everyone
    Can a GENERIC dvd dual 4x be converted to anything higher than 4x ?

    If so, how?

    No it is only going to write at 4x. If you want higher speed buy a new burner.

    Plextor burners are great.......

    I agree on the Plextors, I have two and love them but they are pricey. If you plan on booktyping your media then think about BenQ, Lite-on, LG or Sony. NEC can do this but needs modified fw. Pioneer drives do not. All of these drives are good and the BenQ and Lite-on can be had at between 50 to 60 USD. Check online at
