    Could somebody please help

    I'm trying (without success)to find a software program where i can "burn" movies taken on my digital camera to play on my DVD player at home. The files which i'm trying to "burn" are in .avi & .mov format.

    Any help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.

    I don't know if it suits you, but both TMPGenc Plus (v2.5) and TMPGenc Xpress (v3.0 or above, now v4.0) can convert both AVI and MOV files into DVD MPEG-2
    (see http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/index.html).

    More, TMPGenc isn't very expensive and has useful 'project wizards' for encoding/convrting and so on.

    Test it. There exist even other freware applications, but TMPGenc gives outputs of great quality.

    [Personally, I don't create DVD MPG files, but:
    - DVD Video (M2V)
    - DVD audio (MP2 or AC3 resampled 48 kHz)

    and only LATER I author the products:

    - M2V + audio --> (via authoring) VOB set + IFO + BUP

    but only because I prefer to do so because I have a better contro on each phase (1 - encoding; 2 - authoring; 3 - burning) ].

    Just to remind you, to open MOV files you need a 'plugin', that is, some little files you have to place in TMPGenc's directory ( http://www.afterdawn.com/software/plug-ins/other_plug-ins/qtreader_for_tmpgenc.cfm ).

    For [bold] TMPGenc Xpress [/bold] I don't know.
    Surely it can, I don't know if it needs someting or it can directly.

    Sorry, but since you need administrator rights (on Windows XP) to run it and, since, I use my job's computer (powerful, but with some little limitations) I never tested it. I use TMPGenc Plus v2.5, instead.
