Hey, sorry to bother you guys, Im sure its on here somewhere but I can't seem to find it. I downloaded some episodes from a TV show and want to put them on a DVD to watch in the home theatre system. Theres 6 files. All of them are .AVI files. I want to take those 6 .avi files and convert them to a .ISO file so I can burn them thru DVD Decrypter. What Program do I use???? And does it matter there are codecs on them??? If so Im not 100% what codec it is thats on them. How do I find out??? Thanks
It doesn't work like that. There are a few ways to go about this. This is the method I prefer: 1. Convert AVI to MPEG-2 (DVD compliant format) I use TMPGenc 2. Author DVD with program of your choice I use Ulead Movie Factory 2 most of the time because it's the simpliest and fastest. I'll use TMPGEnc DVD Author if I want more options like video clips in the menus. 3. Burn ISO once DVD is authored. AVI are tricky. Sometimes I will have to save to audio from them in a seperate wav file and merge it with the video in TMPGenc. I usually use Goldwave for that. Gspot is program that will tell you what codec the AVI uses. Gordian Knot Codec Pack 1.9 has every codec I've ever needed with no spyware. Or you can look for a DVD player that plays AVI files. Since I don't have one most of the time with stuff like TV shows, PPV wrestling or boxing and the like I play them on my softmodded Xbox so I don't have to go through all that that crap. I just watched the new Sopranos like that a couple of days ago.
Ok, I used TMPGEnc DVD Author and went to "Write DVD Folder to DVD R/RW" added the files I wanted to make into 1 .iso. Did so, then used DVD Decrypter to burn the .iso to the dvd, it worked, but when I go to play it on a DVD Player/ Home theatre it doesnt work. But the files are on the DVD when I look at it on the computer.
What disc are you using? Also, at what speed are you burning your disc? I would recommend burning them at 4x.
Maxell are good disc as for as I know. Did you test out your iso file. Are you able to watch the iso on your computer?
When I burn other DVD's, Extract them as ISO's I can watched them thru DVD Shrink. But this one I cant I get this error: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue Invalid DVD Navigation structure
If you're not able to watch the iso file on your computer, then you definately won't be able to watch them on a dvd player. Something must have went wrong when you convert the .avi to iso. If you still have those 6 .avi files, I would recommend to use Nero Vision to convert them to DVD. Save the file to your your hard drive and then use Nero to burn them. Seems to take forever to burn avi to dvd, have converting programs already reached their limit? Or are they still in the development stage, where it seems to take about the length of the video to convert?
hello, dvd shrink is quite old these days,and this error means it cannot break the copyright protection placed on the disk,(probably Sony ArcoSS) you need to use something else to rip the film to the HD,something like dvd decrypter,or use anydvd hope this helps cheers!!
