Okay...i've used a video capture card to get a movie that I like and would like to burn to DVD. When it saved, it saved in .avi format....I've got Nerovision express SE...and I've read that you can use that to convert the .avi file to .bup so that i can burn it to dvd using Nero. I have searched for forums and looked for how to's but still don't understand. Can anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated.
okay well i've found the steps to do it on a basic guide....but when I put the movie file up on nero express it is too big....and it says that if it is too big then I may have to use dvd shrink to encode it???? How do I do that?
Hi dani2005 Shrink can't handle .avi files so you will need vision to convert it 1st. How big is this file? Which version of 6 are you using - like 6.6.0.18?
Wow - that is one big file. I don't even know if shrink or recode could get this down to size. Are you trying to put on a single layer dvd (4.38 gig) or a dual layer (7.95 gig)? You may need to split it up on a few discs.
One thing you can do is update your Nero to this version - 6.6.0.18. Here are some links: Package 1 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 (recode and vision) http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe After you transcode/covert the avi files to dvd complaint ones (that's if vision will even accept a file this big) here's a guide (older but will give you an idea) on how to split to 2 discs - you can probably do the same thing for more than 2: http://www.dvdshrink.info/splitting-v2-3.php Maybe someone else will pop in with a better suggestions for you!
