Ok I am new to this whole thing.. And I wish PC's came with instructions now a days with programs but they dont !! Anyways ... I am downlaoding movies from the net and trying to burn them to a DVD-R , it will not import my movies that are .avi. What kind of program is good to convert .avi to .mpg .mpeg? I have tried www.tmpgenc.net but it doesnt work for me doesnt even want to open up. After I am done converting the .avi to a .mpeg do I have to do anymore converting or should that be fine then to put it on the DVD-r? And then... I am using the CD DVD-R to put the movies on them is that concidered VCD? Im lost help please !!! thanks
Mpeg 1 is different to Mpeg 2 , Mpeg 2 is DVD compliant. Mpeg 1 will probably burn straight away in Nero but as a VCD (and as long as under 800Mb) Coverting .avi to .mpg nobody wants to answer OR dont know the answer cos I've posed the question myself here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/30964
Not to harp on this point but..... The reason why computers don't come with instructions is this; to give you instructions on every function on the computer would require a book so big it would take 5 people to carry it. It's kind of the same reason why new cars don't come with manuals on how to drive; it is assumed that you know how to use the machine before you buy it.
