I have a collection of the TV series Tour of Duty on DVD and I would like to convert those episodes to Xvid to save some space and allow me to burn them to DVD and put about 10-12 episodes on one DVD disc as opposed to having only 5 episodes on a disk.

I have no problem ripping them from the disk... the problem is getting good quality Xvids.

I'm fairly new to the whole conversion scene, but I have been experimenting with FairUse Wizard Lite and Auto Gordian Knot, but haven't gotten great results yet. I've seen 45 min. TV episodes ripped down to 350mb that looked Great!.....mine not so much, I mean they're watchable but not great quality like I've seen from others.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to get better quality, here are my specs:

    MPEG2 720x480 NTSC 4:3 PGC 1. Length: 0:48:04:10....

Is what the video starts as, how should I configure the Xvid Codec, and any special settings I should adjust in Auto Gordian Knot, resolution, etc.

I'd like to get the video size to 350-375mb and keep good quality, any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Brian

With AGK I choose 'Custom Size', 350MB and get good results (I believe the 'Custom' defaults is two passes and that's why it takes longer).
