i was able to get a free external 160gb sata hard drive but i would rather have it be an internal one due to higher write speed (to my knowledge), one more open usb port and i just don't want a clunky hard drive outside of my cpu, yet i still want the extra storage so i was wondering, since you can convert a internal to a external can you do vice versa
I can't give a definite answer but I don't believe so. If I'm right (which I think I am) The hd in an external is not covered like an internal hd. Rather, the actual box holds the hd and the usb is connected directly to it rather than an adapter. The answer is no but I may be wrong, 90% im right.
dang...at least it was free in the first place so i guess i can't complain. it's possible that i could trade it somewhere for a internal version
Craig's list is the only place I know of that you can TRADE it. You could sell it and buy an internal hd.
