I bought a Sandisk e130. Customer support tells me that it will remember time in file position if I pause unit before turning it off. After a week of going around they told me that this only works with .aa files. I'm listening to .mp3 podcasts. Is there a conversion process to turn .mp3 in to .aa? Thanks, Szumi
We have a long thread on this topic already. Have a look through it and see what you can find.. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/103313 Please before posting in the future. Welcome to the forums
It was an interesting read and maybe some day I'll want to convert an audible book to mp3. What I want to do is convert mp3 content to .aa to take advantage of bookmarking. I didn't see anything in that long thread about going the way I want to go. Thanks, Szumi
Hmm, I am no expert on this, but, I can give you a 'semi-solution'. Using iTunes, convert your .mp3 podcasts to Apple's AAC (.M4a) Format. Using Windows File Explorer change that extension to .M4b~ That'll enable iTunes Bookmarking feature. But the only thing it can't do is to implement Chapter breaks. This is what makes the .aa format so desireable becuse it supports a Gapless Playback.... Hope that helps you..
I gave it a try. My sandisk e130 would not recognize the file. Oh well. I dropped the ~ from m4b since I think you didn't mean to type that. I do thank you for trying to help. Szumi
