I have a cheap TV tuner card that apparently only captures in mpeg1. What would be a simple way to convert to mpeg2 or divx in order to save space on hard drive?

You Probably won"t be able to Make the Files Much smaller That is unless you don"t mind Looseing a Bunch of Quality....

If you want to make DVD"s from these Files then you can Make the DVD from the Mpeg-1 files as Long as they are DVD Compliant (Mpeg-1 at 352x240 with 48khz audio)....

If you want to try encodeing to Mpeg-2 you can Try useing "Tmpgenc" or if you want to encode to Mpeg-4/DivX/XviD you can use something like "Virtual-Dub" as Long as you have the Codecs Installed....

    Cheers
