Here is my problem. I have a region3 dvd that I would like to convert into a copy that works with all dvd players. I currently have a DvD burner that is the only cd rom drive in the machine. Included is the Nero Burning ROM software. Can I just rip the dvd onto my computer and then burn it? or will it still be region3 dvd. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Well if this is a Retail Region 3 DVD then it Probably would not fit on a Regular DVD-R because Retail DVD"s are DVD9 format which can be up to 9gb, so what you would have to do is use a Program like "DVD-Shrink" to Ripp and Compress the DVD and Strip out unwanted Tracks Like Subtitles and Foreign Language Tracks and them burn the New Folder to DVD-R, this DVD will Work in all Regions but that doesn"t Mean that it will Play on all TV"s because if it is a Pal DVD and you want to Play in on a NTSC System you could have Problems because Not all NTSC TV Sets will Properly Display Pal Video....Cheers
Or download IfoEdit, rip your DVD to harddisk, use IfoEdit to edit the ifo's (press Region Free) and burn to DVD. You can also use some hex-editor to edit the video_ts.ifo file. Change the 23rd hex value to 40 (what ever it is. If original region is 2 then the value is FD).
