   I have a windows media center pc I use for watching tv. Currently I can record a program and convert it to HD using various video converters. Does anyone know of an application that can convert standard cable to hdtv on the fly?

   you can not convert non hd programs to hd what you are seeing is upconversion of tv programs it is still not hd
