I'm having some trouble converting a .ts file to a .avi file. I'm using Total Video Converter, and I get standard picture and sound, but the sound isn't aligned perfectly with the picture.

What should I be doing with the advanced files? Should I be using a different video converter? If so, what should I use for the settings?

    One method.

You can find the out-of-sync value by playing the file with 'Media Player Classic'.
Use the + or - keys on the number pad to adjust the timing until it matches.
The numbers can be seen at the bottom of the window.

When you know the value, load the file into 'VirtualDub', click 'Audio' 'Interleaving' and insert the value (plus or minus) into the 'Skew'.
Click 'Video' 'Direct Stream Copy' then 'File' 'Save as AVI'.
