Any good encoder should output a compliant mpeg. It could be the audio stream that's not.
Tmpgenc dvd author only accepts compliant streams (usually), so it could be the burning process you're using, or the media (disks).
What encoder are you currently using, and what is the specific issue?

i am using win avi 6.2 and tmpgenc has accepted them

the issue is i am wasting dvd's because they are not compliant with all dvd players

the process i go through is the following
1.convert file using win avi 6.2
2.insert file into tmpgenc dvd author 1.6
3.create menus and use tmpgenc to convert into vobs etc.
4.burn with tmpgenc dvd author 1.6

This isnt makin compliant dvd's and i really need to fix it preferably i would still like to use tmpgenc because i dont like nero (too Slow) couldnt master dvd lab dvd santa wouldnt let me add menus

PLZ if any one can help i would be much grateful on the other hand if people could also list the way they make their dvd's aswell would really help

Ps This does'nt mean how people backup dvd's i can do that !lol

    TIA

    I use DvdSanta..to convert the video cause its fast & does a good job..then I use TMPG DVD16...JUST IMPORT YOUR DVD...U can add chapters...menus...scene selections..live menus..anything u can do to a DVD
A lot of the movies I get only take like 1.25_1.50 GIGS U can put them on one Disc in TMPG DVD16..setup your Menu Play Movie-1..Play movie-2..etc...I LIKES it my way..Give it a try can't be any worse then what u Got now..Betcha end up liken it I Betcha Yep,Yep,Yep

OK..rooney8..I find that DVD Santa does a good job on converting..But when u try to fast forwad or use chapter forward or back in my DVD players its radical !fast forwards so fast it could jump all the way to the end of the movie & restart..same with chapters..you can't control it so I use TMPGEncDVD Author 1.6.26.73 to Start create new project..add DVD video your Video_ts file..click next..click ok..now it should be reading chapter info...next chapter cut edit.. now add..I always use specified number..I like 4 min chapters so for 60mins I add 15 chapters..next click ok to re-chapter your DVD..go to ok..next go to create menu..i always use no menu..then out put..WaLa your done..now your DVD will work perfect in your DVD player..chapter by chapter & fast forward will function the way they should
If u don't have this problem w/DVD Santa don't bother..but try a DVD RW First & see this happens on all my players(6)

Hello again rooney8..it is fast..faster then any other program I've used..I've got a 2.13 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP..1024 Megabytes Installed Memory..1000 GIGs hrddrv
Every movie I've converted has only taken as long as the movie is..if its a 2hr movie then thats how long it took..with the exception of THE AVIATOR..this movie was 2:37 mins long..it took 3hrs
WHAT type computer..what speed..memory..have a lot to do with speed
I've got an old 533 w/256 mem 120gig hrddrv..that i use now this one takes awhile..
HERES WHAT U SAID..the issue is i am wasting dvd's because they are not compliant with all dvd players..This isnt makin compliant dvd's..
Also..how did your movie come out..did it make compliant dvd
add menus->USE..TMPG DVD 16..THIS adds menus..chapters..live motion if u like

Well hopefully we got u compliant DVD's..even if it does take a little time..good luck..hope i gave a little help..try your fast forward above 4x on DVD Player..if it acts radical..then don't forget to use TMPG DVD16..RESET CHAPTERS..even add more if u like..this will fix the DVD so fast forward works properly..u can either USE Add DVD video to ad VIDEO_TS OR Add file to ad individual VOB's..either way it works

If u had gone to this site it would explain, just what its for..its just a little prog to tell u about your sys, mem, process speed etc..check out these sites (criminey) ..also the programs u have including the 1's u forgot about
As far as out of sync audio..that happens sometimes..check that problem here..http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/virtualdub_procedures.htm..now go here & do a little reading ! !
I converted a movie (Layer Cake)the original file was ok..i converted it to DVD..it played fine on my computer..but in my DVD Player it was out of sync by about 2 sec
I don't really care to mess with this crap as it can get quite time consuming..I just throw the movie away..or watch it on my computer..eventually I'll hook up my computer to my TV..& use it like a Tivo..cures that problem
