    Hi guys & gals,
It's been awhile, thanks to you all I've been joyfully copying and burning kids' movies from the library for my 2 little ones. Here's an unexpected snag. I downloaded trailers and clips from WALL E.com website, converted from .mov to DVD files using WinAVI converter, edited using DVD Shrink, finally burned using Nero. Thought all was well, discs (I tried several) play fine on computer, excellent clarity and sound, but will not play on any of my standalone DVD players. Figure it must be a matter of settings somewhere along the line in the process, hoped you might have some ideas and suggestions. If so please let me know. Thanks much. Jaknife.

It's not something simple like the files were converted to PAL format and your country is NTSC?

Have you managed to resolve this Jaknife?, as I've got a similar problem, though in reverse - says burned dvd will play on dvd player but not on the computer (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/682066).
If you fixed it can you let us know how.

    Thanks

Thanks guys. ATTAR, thanks, I thought of that and checked, but didn't see where the setting might have been PAL (needs to be NTSC here in U.S.). I'm going to do another burn tonight and ensure the correct NTSC setting. BETADOG, weird, it won't play on the computer you burned it on, but will in a standalone? FYI, sorry for the delay responding, received no e-mail notification that anyone (you) had responded, but will fix that. I'd checked the box but apparently didn't take. Thanks again, will post results of tonight's burn and anything else I find out that may help you.
