hi guys I have convertx to dvd and have been using it for many months and has been fantastic but for the first time i have d/l a film that has two 700mb avi files split in two halfs and am not sure how to convert both avi files on one dvd-r? Any help would be appreciated
In ConvertX, load both videos. Use the up/down arrows to be sure they are in order. In the Menu selection, choose 'Auto Start' and 'Sequential Playback' and de-select 'Include Menu'. There may be a slight pause between the two titles as they playback. If that is unacceptable you can join the AVI files before conversion. Possibly, VirtualDub or the like would suit.
hi attar, your advive worked like a gem, thank you so much. It has made me wonder IF i can put 2(or more) 700mb avi movie files to one DVD-R via CONVERTX to DVD?.I have been downloading 700mb avi movies and converting them straight to DVD on thier own, it may sound a silly question but i am pretty new to the wonderful world of the internet and i am still picking up the basics. Just wondered if i can put multiple avi films on one disc Once again many thanks attar
It's not so much the size of the input file (although a two hour movie on a small AVI means low quality), it's the running time. Assuming good quality AVI files, then three or four hours of running time would be all I would attempt (four, nominal one hour, TV episodes). Try it and see what your tolerance level is.
so basically i could give two 90min movie flicks a bash and see what the outcome is, if however it dissapoints stick with just the one on a single DVD, like you say depending on the films i.e a film geared towards special effects probably not? however a comedy that gears more towards the story line and the quality is not so important then perhaps give it a bash but like you say 4hrs tops. Thanks attar you really have been a great help
So your film is in 2 700mb parts.. but it is like just split for convenience, not 2 episodes or anything. A lot of movies are done like this so they can be stored on cd media as data files and transported to an anonymous location for uploading (hahaha.. that's the reason) you can try this small tool to join your 2 half films together. I have used it with some success, as long as the film has been split properly at a frame. http://www.doeasier.org/joiner/
hi varnull i understand that now and have succesfully converted my FIRST 2 part film on to one DVD no problem, i was wondering if i could burn 2 700mb films on one dvd, attar explained i can but maybe with a lower quality outcome. im so new to this and was ALSO wondering if i can put a 700mb avi file to a CD, I have looked into it via google etc but it seems a whole lot of work and fiddling about for the sake of a CD being about 9pence cheaper than a DVD but i could be wrong??
sorry for spamming this great forum but is their a way to EDIT your post rather than just the THREAD TITLE?, anyway while i'm here im looking to see if its possibe to convert two seperate films(700mb avi) to one DVD, i think i can but with a possible downside to the outcome of the quality, thanks for everyone's advice ive learnt so much more than i did before
