I have a 720p x264 mkv movie, and I'd like to stream it to my Xbox 360 to watch on my tv. Problem is, the 360 doesn't support mkv or mp4 containers. My only choice would be to transcode it to either Xvid or an HD WMV container. What would be the easiest/best way to do this as losslessly as possible, maintaining the 720p resolution? I can't find any tutorials on the subject anywhere. If Xvid is the easiest, I'm more than willing to part with the 5.1 AC3 audio. I know chances are I can't get the same video quality with Xvid as I am with x264, but if it's close enough, it's fine with me. Thanks for any help.
How to change that MKV to avi container with no quality loss: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/560356 Hope it helps.
