I have a 700 mg AVI file that I would like to burn to DVD. When I try to
burn it using nerovision it says i need a dvd-9 disc. So I tried to open it with tmpgenc to convert it to a smaller size in order to fit it on a 4.7 g dvd disc instead. Unfortuantely, the file will not open in tmpgenc. Says it cannot open or is unsupported file. Any ideas?

if im not mistake, i think tmpgenc doesnt support .avi files, just use vso divxtodvd to convert the files to dvd format, then burn with whatever

Do you know if your DVD Player plays PAL or NTSC format? If so, make sure the source .avi file encodes to the proper format.

attn J-Suad...it plays NTSC but i set the encoding to automatic which is the default setting.

Try setting it to "Force NTSC 29.97" then reconvert. This will force it to encode in NTSC format which is what your DVD player plays.

Tmpgenc Supports Most all Formats Especially AVI....

To get rid of the Unsupported error in Tmpgenc Try this, First go to "Options" then to "Enviromental Settings" to "VFAPI Plugins" and Raise the "Direct Show Multi-Media File Reader" to "2" and then Try Loading in the File again and it should Work....

Also you should allways Decompress the audio in your AVI file when useing Tmpgenc or most any encoder for that matter because Most Downloaded AVI files use VBR MP3 audio which will allways Go out of Sync after encodeing or the Audio will Plain Just not encode....

    Cheers

    Attn Minion,

How do I decompress the audio in my AVI file when using Tmpgenc? Also, I change the priority to 2 on the directshow and im still getting the error message.
