    Hi.
I was just wondering something. Converting AVI and MP4 to dvd takes a long time and I have a tv tuner which has a built-in MPEG Hardware encoder. What I wanted to know is if there is any software out there which allow you to convert files to dvd using the hardware mpeg encoder instead of the CPU? This would make it alot faster to convert the files.

    Thank you

It's all about the cpu. What cpu are you using? a dualcore or quad will give you the best speed. I have a single/dual and quad cores and know from personal expierence that the cpu will improve the speed tremendously.

The tuner card hardware mpeg encoders won't help you in this conversion. The hardware mpeg encoders work in real-time, they only convert what comes in through the tuner card in real-time bypassing the cpu.

Some nvidia video cards do have the capability of doing some of the video conversion.
