    Hi all...
My problem is why the video quality usually drop after I burnt it? It is not clear anymore.
Compare with before I burn it to CD

Burning should have no effect on quality. Re-encoding to a lossy format will though. If you don't want to lose quality, don't convert.

What exactly are you starting with and what are you converting to? VCD? SVCD?

So how do we watch it with a VCD without loose the quality?
I use nero 6 to encode .avi .mpeg .wmv etc and then burn it to CD.
Usually the quality is drop significantly.
    Is there anything to do?

VCD specs are set, the only thing you could really do is use a better quality encoder. But take one of the specs; resolution. For VCD the resolution is 352x288/240 (PAL/NTSC), now your source is probably of a higher resolution, so when shrunk down it of course is going to look crap.

If you want quality, forget about VCD.

I don't think every VCD has bad quality. but don't compare with DVD. Why some of files is good after burn and some don't? Is there any solution?

Well I would have to say that yes all VCD's are bad quality and why not compare it to DVD? The price of a blank DVD isn't that much more than a CD and unless the source is 80mins or less for a VCD you would need two discs anyway.

Some things are more compressable than others. Now with DVD or pretty much anything else if something is not that compressable; you use a higher bitrate. With VCD the bitrate is always 1150. So for some sources that is simply going to look better than others.

I haven't got DVD writer yet, So why don't I maximize the VCD quality if I could. Of course it is unfair if VCD quality compared with DVD. They have different level.
But okay, I will consider to get one ^_^ but on the other hand, It means I should spend 3 or 5 times longer to re-encoding.
With 700MB video takes time approx. 3.5 hours. What about re-encode to DVD?
Can we increase the quality before burn it to DVD?

    Thanks
