Hey Guys, I have multiple AVI's that are around 350mb each, i want to put say 10 of these onto a DVD-R in DVD standard format to play on my standalone DVD Player, but i converted 1 of these 350mb AVI's to DVD format using D.I.K.O program and i ended up with a 900mb dvd format file. It plays fine and looks great quality on my TV but ofcourse to fit atleast 10 of these 350mb files onto a DVD wouldnt fit because they each convert to round 900mb. Is it possible to convert the AVI to DVD but keep the 350mb file size? or a way to get them onto DVD-R to play onto standalone dvd player any other way but keeping the AVI file size?
No, You simply can not Fit that much Video on a DVD in DVD Format.... The Most you can Really Fit on a with any Sort of Quality on a Standard DVD useing the Standard DVD format is about 2.5 hours...(The size of the File has no effect on how big it will be after it is in DVD Format what Matters is the Length of the File and the Bitrate used to encode the File) If you had a DivX enabled DVD Player you could Simply Burn the AVI files to DVD the way they are without converting them but you would need a DVD Player that specificly supports this Format.... Ok yeh i thought i was kinda stuck. I guess its time i got myself a DivX player, they're pretty cheap. Can anyone recommend me the best program(s) to convert AVI to DVD format? so basically keeping the best quality when converting it to DVD.
The Best Quality Encoders will encode to Mpeg-2 Format and then you take the Mpeg-2 file and Load it into a DVD Authoring Program and add your Menu"s and Chapters and Burn to DVD.... The Converters that Convert the AVI directly to a Video_TS Folder without menu"s or Chapters will generally not Produce nearly as Good of Quality as a Standalone Mpeg-2 encoder but they are Much easier to use..... Tmpgenc Pluss/Express are good encoder but they are a Little Slow but if you want Faster encodeing then try the "MainConcept Encoder".... As For DVD Authoring program that you use to add your Menu"s and Chapters 'Tmpgenc DVD author" is very Easy to use But it is Lacking in Features but "MediaChance DVDLab pro" is a Much Better DVD authoring Program that makes Much better Looking Menu"s and has Many more Features But it is a Little More Difficult to Learn.....
