Ok I have some MPEGs that I'm trying to convert to VOB. I have the newest version of DivxtoDVD which is called XtoDVD (i think) and I also have DVD Santa. But when converting it always splits the VOB files into .99 gig chunks...which I DON'T want it to do...anyone know how I can convert these but into only 1 VOB file? Thanks
Hello. Standards call for VOB files to not exceed 1GB which is why most programs use that as the default. I'm not sure if ConvertXtoDVD allows for changing this. If it does I don't know where it is in the settings and I think I've looked at all of them. May I ask why you would want a single VOB file? IIRC DVD Copy 5 does have an option which allows for only one file to be created but I haven't looked at the program for a while. Because I use Nerovision express to make dvd's and i want to put a few movies onto one disk. But when it splits the files it would make my menu's weird cuz they would have several chapters of the same movie, I just wanted it to be all one VOB. If it is too hard I can just deal with it...
You can add or remove chapters at your will in NeroVision. The number of VOB files is not related in any way to menus or chapters. You can merge files or split files within NeroVision. The resultant VOB files are what are placed in the VIDEO_TS folder and burned to a DVD, They are played seemlessly. I'm not sure but it sounds as though you want to merge clips into a larger clip. Is this correct? If so just select th titles/clips you want to join and click the merge icon in NeroVision. There are three icons on the lower left of the content window where the imported titles are displayed. The top icon is the Delete Titles icon, the next is the Merge icon, and the lower one is the Rename icon.
aight man sweet didnt know about that. Basically what I'm doing is I have like 3 full movies that aren't that big so i want to put them on 1 dvd. But when converted they are multiple video files and i wanted them to each only be 1 video file so i could work with them easier. So instead of converting 3 mpegs to like 10 vobs i would convert 3 mpegs to 3 vobs...but your way should work 2
For future reference, I can guarantee that Nero nor ImgBurn will accept any vob over 2G. I used WinAvi to create some files that were, mistakenly, over 2G and neither would burn them, giving an error that a vob was over 2G in size and Nero support verified this.
