I have a large collection of old music recorded in cassettes and acetate albums from the 60´s and 70´s. I would like to burn them into cd and/or DVD so as to assure the protection of it all. How can it be done? Is there any particular gadget to perform this burning?

Basically you need to establish connection between e.g. the cessette player and the pc (e.g. via the mic. jack), then a software to capture and convert the analog sound into digital format (e.g. mp3, wav). I use Audacity, a free but great program:

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

    Happy audio conversion!
