    Hola, well this is my first time being here, and this question may have already been asked (I only took a quick look at other posts) but I'm gonna ask any way

    Alright so I got theese two pretty big .AVI files and I wanna put them together and them burn them to a CD, but I ran into a couple of problems. First, I wanted to put them together with Windows Movie Editor, but I think the files are to big so I get an error so I can't put them together that way, so does any one know another way to put theese files together? Second, I don't know how to convert the .AVI files into .MPG or something thats easy to burn, I've tried to change the file extenstion and that doesn't work because everytime I try and open the file explorer crashes, I've also tried to use a program called WinAVI it's suppose to be able to change .AVI to any other kind of video file but when its about ten percent done it crashes my computer, then when I reboot I get an error saying that my computer overheated, which I'm pretty sure didn't happen because I've never had that error until I try and use the program, so does any one know how to change a .AVI into a .MPG or a .ISO so I can burn it to a DVD-R disc and watch it on my DVD player?

    If your avis are error free, try use VSO DivxToDVD (free version) to convert to dvd compliant format, then use e.g. Nero to burn.

    Good luck!

    Remember that this process consists usually in 2 steps:

    1) converting (AVI --> M2V + sound)
    2) authoring (+ burning or making an .ISO you'll burn later).

    scf_au just suggested you to use VSO DivXtoDVD for step 1).

    Nero, makes step 2) + the "burning" of the authored DVD image together [it could also make 1) if required, i.e. if you input an AVI, but Nero is a lame Encoder and VSO DivXtoDVD is surely better].
