Okay, I am using my Samsung camcorder plugged into my pc with an IEEE1394 wirefire. The software that i'm using came already installed when i purchased my pc it's intervideo windvd creator. I can capture the video, edit, and author it all in this software and burn it to a DVD, all of this works fine except I don't have any sound. I have it on the tape, and i have it on the pc but there is no sound when played on home dvd player. what the deal? I should also tell you this i'm very very new at all of this and would be extremlly greatful for any advice you could provide. thank you in advance.

When you say you have sound on the pc, was it before or after the transcoding and burning (i.e. when you now play the burnt dvd on the pc, does it have sound)?

O.K., so you have sound before encoding, but not afterwards. Now what is the format of the original file (e.g. avi, mpeg)?

I think it's an avi, but not sure remember i'm really, really new at all of this, so i'm clueless as to what i'm really doing. I have another stupid question I bought DVD+RW's for this project as to have to threw them away when it didn't work but now i don't know how to clean them off for reuse if you could tell me that it would be great.
