Hi, How can one rip (convert) a DVD to video so that the subtitles (or at least one of the subtitles) included in the DVD would appear in the video as well? Thanks stibi
If you want permanent subs use AutoGK; select the subs that you want and convert the DVD to AVI. If you want switchable subs, use AutoGK but don't select subtitles. Extract the subs from the DVD ( .sub and .idx) using VobSub Configure Burn the AVI video,.sub and .idx files (same name for video and subtitle files) onto a disk. Select the subs using the remote.
Hi attar, First, thanks for your prompt response and, please, accept my apology for my belated response: I had some serious difficulties with my PC and later I was absent. I tried to convert with AutoGK a DVD with subtitles in one language (Czech), however it didn't work: I "imported" into AutoGK the VTS_01_0.IFO file of the said DVD and checked the square next to the CZ letters in the Subtitle track(s) column. When the process of the job was finished, there appeared a message that the system is unable to find the idx (and in the target folder (agk)I found an avi file of 852 kb only). Hence, I tried to extract the subtitles from the DVD, by using "VobSub Configure" as explained in http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_ripsubtitles_vobsub.php, however I failed. Indeed, on the right column of the "Select PGC" window (below the words "No angle processing") there appeared the words "00-Czech", but in the "Filter: VobSub" window, that appeared at the end of the Indexing process there were only the words "00 - Not detected", "01 - Not detected", "02 - Not detected" etc. and in the target folder I found a sub file of 0 kb and an idx file of 2kb. Any suggestion(s) ? Thanks in advance stibi
