Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum this seemed like the best since I'm only using Nero software. I read the rules and guides and such, and couldn't find this specific problem. Heres the deal. I use NVE 3.1.0.16 to convert my avi files to DVD (vob) files, and to create menus and chapters and such. I burn it at the default "Extended Play" settings, with a 4:3 ratio, since I don't have a wide screen TV. Then I take all the vob files and burn them onto a Memorex DVD-R at 16x speed. That all goes smoothly, but when I throw it in my DVD player and play it back on the TV it seems to cut off all sides of the video. Pretty much just streches it to about 2" larger than the TV screen. If I try to play it back on my computer it works fine, no cut offs or anything. Anyone have any idea why? Could it possibly be a resolution problem with my TV? I know its not a DVD player problem, since I've tried on 3 different DVD players (all hooked up to the same TV.) Anyway, any help would be great, and just in case it matters I'm running Windows XP home edition.
Halrawk, I think it has to do with the screen resolution of the TV (720 X 480) vs the monitor resolution being alot better. Is your TV full or Widescren?
Halrawk, Try the movie in a friends Widescreen and see what the results are. The full screen resolution is not the same as the monitor. Some of the Widescreens also have the same resolution as the Fullscreen. They are coming out w/ some Widescreens that have better resolutions but they are a little more expensive
