My blackberry only creates 3GP movie files. I'm trying to combine several clips, but the software I'm using doesn't read 3GP. Which format should I convert it to to retain quality and any suggestions as to which software to use. I notice the file plays in Quicktime. Should I export it from Quicktime to another format and again, which format would retain its original quality (or as close as possible)? Thanks in advance.

    Try XviD4PSP.
Set the format you want (either leave it set for 3gp or select avi or one of the other formats).

Load/drag a file then 'File' > 'Join File..' to add more clips

    XviD4PSP cannot edit the video.

AviDemux can (I think open 3gp video and 'Append' subsequent files) - then you can edit the joined files and save in various formats (it defaults to AVI.

Alternatively, you could join the files in XviD4PSP and export as AVI and open the AVI in AviDemux for editing.
As long as the only editing required is simple cuts, the output will simply be copied and not re-encoded.

Thank you so much for this information. My last three questions: (1) will I be losing quality saving into a different format from 3GP, (2) which is the best format suggested to convert to? I'm taping in the Normal Video Format of 240 x 180. My other Video Format option is MMS Mode (176 x 144). and, (3) what's the difference in the two video formats?

    Thanks again in advance,

Re-encoding from one format to another causes a loss of quality - it may or may not be noticeable - depending on the source video.
AVI is a good choice for editing.

I don't know what MMS mode does.
